PRODUCT FOCUS - IBEDA Quick Action Coupling Flashback Arrestors
There are many advantages when using a flashback arrestor with
an inbuilt quick action coupling mechanism. Besides having
all of the features of standard flashback arrestors, these models
also incorporate a shut-off valve, activated when the coupling pin
is removed.
Simplicity
Once the flashback arrestors and coupling pins have been
connected onto the equipment, there are no threaded connections to
contend with when connecting or disconnecting hoses and other
attached equipment. Disconnection and reconnection of a
coupling pin to the unit happens in a fraction of a second.
No additional tools required!
Versatility
Often different tasks need to be completed from the same gas
supply or workstation. Using quick action coupling flashback
arrestors, this is achieved in a fraction of the time than when
using threaded connections. Hoses of different lengths can be
easily connected to extend reach; hoses with larger or smaller
internal diameters may be connected when changing the application
(from welding / cutting to heating / gouging and vice versa);
blowpipes can be disconnected and the hoses reattached to straight
line cutting machines. The options are endless!
Mobility
By using equipment connected to quick action coupling units,
mobility becomes a breeze. To move equipment from one gas
supply or work station to the next, simply disconnect the equipment
from the supply by operating the coupling mechanism, and reconnect
the equipment to the gas supply where needed. It all happens
in seconds!
Compliance
The complete range of IBEDA flashback arrestors with inbuilt
quick action automatic gas shut-off have been independently tested
by BAM in Germany and are product certified to the Australian
Standard (AS4603). The coupling pin and coupling mechanism fully
complies with international standards EN561/ISO7289. This is
important, as the edict of Australian Standards is to follow an
international standard (where no current Australian Standard
exists), as is the case with these products.
Regulator End Flashback Arrestors with Quick Action
Automatic Gas Shut-Off
The flashback arrestor is fitted to the regulator and the
coupling pin is fitted to the hose. Once the coupling pin is
released from the flashback arrestor coupling mechanism, the gas
supply is shut off.
Torch End Flashback Arrestors with Quick Action
Automatic Gas Shut-Off
The flashback arrestor is fitted to the hose and the coupling
pin is fitted to the downstream equipment, such as a blowpipe /
cutting torch or portable cutting machine. Once the coupling
is released from the flashback arrestor the gas supply is shut
off.
